Lisa's Journal

I want to keep everyone up-to-date on what is going on in my life and how they can specifically pray for me. I was recently diagnosed with tonsil cancer and will soon be receiving treatment. I plan to go to U of M for treatment. Please pray for courage, strength and for me to hear God's voice.

not the best day

I wish I could say I was having another great day, but I am not. I am feeling nauseated. MY FAULT. I didn't take the anti-nausea pill. I was feeling great, so I didn't . I will just take it regardless. I have already had my radiation today and I will just rest. I am feeling better now, it's 12:00, this morning was bad, but the meds are kicking in. As of now, my treatment for friday is 1:40, I will try and move it up. Today I will look at the apartment I will be staying in. It is very close to the hospital so it should be an easy commute. OH>>>>>>>>>>>>last night Kathy and I had fun, she got to torment me :) by highlighting my hair. She pulled it through a cap......just wait until you see BLONDIE!She did a good job, but I sure look different. Oh well, I may loose it all anyway....just trying to look hot!!

    Lisa,

Just got on line to read today's entry. Sorry you're not feeling well. We're all praying for you. Hope the apartment is comfortable and adequate for your stay. Glad it's close to the hospital; that's a plus.

    God bless,
    Julie (and the lab gang)

    Lisa,
Sorry you're feeling sick today. I know you won't let it get you down. Before you know it you will be done with treatments and looking back on all this. My friend whose husband recently had 6 months of chemo thought 6 months would feel like a lifetime and then it was over, he is in remission, and you'd never know he had cancer. Even though the days may seem long, the busyness, driving back and forth, and spending quality time with your girls on the weekend will make time fly by and you'll be enjoying your health once again. I'm looking forward to seeing your highlights - sounds like a fun time!

    Hello Lisa
I hope you are feeling better. you are such a trooper. It is a blessing just being able to read your courageous thoughts and words. God is good. I know it takes a buden from you to know that your family is taken care of while you are away from home. Please know I continue to think of you and pray for you daily. Stay strong. Lisa gurl,
I knew it!!!!!!You always do something new with the hair for the summer months and you didn't let me down. Inspite of, continue w/the diva-peal. I bet it looks really nice. Make sure that you show that bright smile to let the nurses know you are the right person for the treatment. You are going to have them all confused changing your looks overnight(tee-hee)Praise God for hospital ID bracelets!!!!!!! Prayerfully, the apartment will be "homey" for your short stay. If not, a good reason to go shopping.(ha-ha) Who said Chemo nausea last all day????
Well Woman of God, remain encouraged in the Lord. You are an amazing living testimony of who God is!!! Know that I am praying WITH you and FOR you. May the peace of God rest, rule and abide in you.

We miss your presence at work.

    Blessings,
    Sheray

Lisa, when I read the hope and strength in your updates, you are an inspiration to all!! Having gone through this with my daughter Dee, I have experienced the fear and anxiety you feel. Dee also had an new inner peace that helped her fight the battle. You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Eric and Kelly told me about the cancer and your journal, I will keep you in my prayers! Love to you, your family and your extended family of love. If there is anything I can help you or your family with, please do not hesitate to contact me. This is Eric Jensen's Mom, Lee Jensen. Take care.
